A private villa set among the terraced vineyards of Tuscany, designed as a meditation on the relationship between architecture and landscape.
Villa Meridian emerges from the Tuscan hillside as a geological formation rather than an object placed upon the land. The building descends the slope in three terraced volumes, each opening toward the valley through floor-to-ceiling glazing. The primary material is a local travertine, quarried from a site fifteen kilometers to the south. Its warm, striated surface is deployed throughout — in walls, floors, and a monumental fireplace. At the heart of the house is a double-height void that draws light deep into the plan, creating a vertical connection between the buried lower level and the open living floors above.
